Background
Ezekiel Adams grew up in Georgia on a diet of Wheaties and G.I. Joe. Ever since he was young, he had a keen interest in the heroic warriors both modern and mythic; cowboys, soldiers, Hulk Hogan, anyone who fought 'the good fight' was an icon for him. He had a keen sense of justice from a young age, but as it was coupled with a belief that beating up the people who were being unfair was the best way of dealing with them, it usually ended up getting him into trouble. He was, of course, unaware of where his fighting spirit came from, but engaged in pursuits such as learning various martial arts from his early years.
As he grew older Adams became a fan of war and action movies. He was also an athlete in school, training in a number of sports. He ended up becoming a free-running enthusiast, and aspired to becoming an action star, where he could do his own stunts. But as he became more aware of the world and its conflicts, he found he had a conviction to do something more meaningful. When he grew older still, he decided to join the Army.
Zeke's first station was in Afghanistan in 2001. He was a member of a reconaissance team sent into the mountains to seek out members of the Taliban. During a mission, though, his squad was ambushed by resistance forces and all but he himself were killed, while he was captured. His rescue was affected by none other than the god Ares, who single-handedly forged into the camp where Zeke was being held prisoner. After he had led Zeke from his captors, he bestowed the disarmed soldier with a belt and a handgun he called Eris. Zeke marvelled at the uselessness of such gifts from such a benefactor until Ares showed him what they could do - the belt, when its buckle was twisted, became a full suit of ultramodern tactical gear, and the gun could change its form depending on what its wielder willed it to be.
Zeke's meeting with his father was short-lived - Ares had other fights to fight, and suggested that with his newly unlocked powers, Zeke did too. Thus Zeke returned to his base with the help of his newfound tools of war. He returned home soon after. He wanted to go where the military could not go and defend people who could not defend themselves. Countries where innocents were being oppressed and killed. He had heard of the actions of the LRA in Uganda, and he decided to go there himself, hunting down its members. This was to be the first of many personal missions Zeke would assign himself to.
Personality
Zeke is fairly easy-going except when it comes to defending what he believes is right. He has a distinct 'never say die' attitude and will throw himself into any fight he believes is worth fighting.
