A man sits alone at a small lesser-known diner that has seen it's fair share of strangeness; a man sitting alone raises no eyebrows. The man stares at the door quietly waiting with all the patience of time itself. In his hand he flicks the metallic casing of a zippo open and closed in a steady unending beat as he stares ahead. The waitress keeps busy and makes sure his coffee is filled, but makes herself scarce. The door opens as sunlight from catches in the glass and douses the small diner in an annoying glare. When the light subsides, a tall, fit man with blond hair and blue eyes walks the narrow passage to the occupied booth. He slides in, checks over his shoulder and then leans forward.

The man with the lighter, gives the blonde a formal nod. "Glad to see you." His eyes look tired, bitter, pained, but something in the softness around the edges, says that he means it.
The blonde man nods nervously and offers a slight smile and with the coolness of any mobster he starts. "My father doesn't know about my involvement. But I helped you make it, and it cannot fall to Aten."
The older man bobs his head in grim understanding. "Nor can it fall to your irrational tyrant of a father. It was my spirit, your form. We both own it. And while I do not condone the actions of my side, I will not see it misused by yours.
The blonde narrows his eyes a little and sighs shaking his head in either surrender to the truth or the denial of it. "Then we are agreed. A mortal must be it's keeper."
The old man pinches the bridge of his nose. "It was -made- for them anyway, if your father would have kept his damned pride out of it." He looks almost miserable, eyes weary with conflict. "This didn't have to happen."
The blonde simply nods. "I'll assign one of my children to look after it. It will be safe with them."
The old one closes his lighter and his eyes, "That is not a curse I would wish on any of mine."
The blonde nods and offers. "My way of accepting my portion of your previous punishments." He takes a moment and pulls out a rather long sword that glows with the fires of the sun. "Are you ready?"
The old man sighs in contentment and unbuttons the shirt he is wearing, exposing the area around his heart. "Used to it by now." And he told the truth. For longer than he can remember, he had his sides torn open every day to have his internal organs eaten by a flaming bird. The anguish had more than prepared him for the sacrifice he was about to make.

Troy Delphino never knew his father….to the point, he never knew either of his parents. Their history was never really a point of interest in him. The truth was, a highschool girl got knocked up by a frat boy looking for a little play. She got pregnant, he got gone, and after the adoption, all else was of no consequence. Troy was adopted, but he was told early on, and it never really bothered him. He was a good kid, with good parents growing up in sunny Arcadia, Florida. The couple couldn't have children of their own, but none they less raised him as if he were theirs.

Ever the social kid, Troy never lacked for friends. He was active, honest, athletic and a nice young man. He ran track, swam, played soccer at school, and during the summer he would go camping, hike, boat. He loved the outdoors, and his father (a park ranger) would always take him out whenever he wanted.

Now, this is not to say Troy was perfect, he got into trouble like any other kid. Mainly being a little frisky with some of the boys and girls in the neighborhood, or mouthing off to an authority figure. But these cases were rare. Highschool was -easy- for him. He had it all, sports, girls, popularity, proud parents. But he still felt things were not as they should be.

Troy started simply running track, loosing interest in the shallow world, as if he were much further along emotionally than his other schoolmates. He was smart, balanced, and mature. He knew what he wanted….freedom, real friendship, knowledge. He started reading a little more, only stuck to running track, and his social life fell off while he spent the next few years finding himself.

He still did well in school, but hung with a different crowd. The independent kids, the freaks, the ones that stuck outside of the normality he just left behind. He attended drum circles, smoked pot, talked about his feelings in an open and honest enviornment, he helped people and was helped in return. He found meditation, and enlightenment through drugs, sex, and maintaining a healthy body.

When he graduated from highschool with a ride to everywhere, he only wanted freedom, to discover his own truth, not the truth that we all agree to, not the shallow truth taught in universities.

While others went to school, he went abroad. He lived in a variety of european countries on temporary work visas, visiting Italy, London, Paris, Germany. He worked dead end jobs that he could leave when he wanted so that he could continue to experience life, meet people, and further his own enjoyment of life.

At night, he would go to clubs, learned about music and dance. About a new era of 'clubbing' centered on communion with the divine. Thus, he began to attend regional Burns, like Burning Man, Transformus, Mammothville and Evoke. He lived a transient life, moving from one regional burn to the next, surviing off of his music and donations.

Sunny, Bright, Hopefull. He is a repository for all good cheer. He is always quick with a king word, or a joke to ease the tension. He's real, but kind and compassionate to a fault. One of the few good people left in the world.

Yeah, who do you know? Who is important?
