Background
Life has been good to me, really good. Sure I was born somewhat poor in Long Island, New York, but my dad was a cool guy. We had one another, and he taught me to rely on myself and not forget who I am. Dad, who's name was Elvis, was a musician. I mean he wasn't THE Elvis, it was just a name. But to me, he was the king. And he was a rock star. Well, almost. He played guitar and sang in an acid rock band called Rainbow Road. And this was years before Mario Kart ever was conceived of. Honest.
Anyway, dad and I lived in an apartment in Long Island. At least we did according to the New York State School System. In reality, he home schooled me and we traveled around a lot. Mostly with his band, doing gigs and whatnot. I didn't learn a heck of a lot about book smarts, but I learned how to deal with people and, at the end of the day, isn't it who you know, not what ya know?
By the time I was a teenager, I had began to help out with Rainbow Bridge. I learned to patch up the van a bit, and I sometimes got to sing the opening act. As it turns out, I must have been pretty good, because one day a man from Warner Brothers was watching and he asked me to cut an album. So I did.
Things got really weird after that – about as weird as I ever thought they could. We recorded the songs, even if most of them were kind of boring, and then the single hit and overnight I was a new man. Instead of just being Eric Sven Lucas, I was just 'Sven'. I was doing tours and signing autographs and on tv and everything.
Not that I am complaining. Teenage girls were all into me, and to be honest – I was all into teenage girls, so it was win-win. I will admit, the fame did start to get to my head a little bit, but thank the Gods dad was there to keep me in check. Well, mostly. And the money helped a lot. Goodbye, Long Island, hello LA!
Come my 18th birthday and my 3rd album, which I got to actually have some input on, I was offered an even better opportunity, the sort pop star teenagers dream about. That's right, situational comedy. The show, Sven, only lasted one season, but that was ok. When it fell through I knew I wanted to be an actor, so I got a few roles here and there. Mostly pretty boy stuff, but so what. I got to make out with some of the hottest women in Hollywood on set (and off).
Life kept getting better until I was in Europe filming my first serious role: Sergeant Steel, a World War 2 piece. One night while out in my trailer, I get a knock and a woman just comes right in. And at first I am thinking 'wow this is the most beautiful chick ever'. Kinda embaressing once I learned who she was. She was my mother, Sif, the Norse Goddess of Fertility and Grain. And she gave me two gifts. Well, beyond the truth of what I was. She gave me a radio that had been used in the real War, and with it I can call in a squad of heroic hardass Einherjer guys. And she gave me a golden necklace, made of gold from her own gold wig.
To not freak out my manager or the studio, I finished the movie. Which is a good idea because it seemed a bunch of frost giants were living nearby, and the Squad and I had to send them packing. But when it was all said and done, I decided to go 'on sabatical' and here I am, living in a penthouse in NYC with my bodyguards down the hall and trying to leave my mark on the world.
Personality
A bit about the character's personality.
Relationships
- Elvis (Father) - His dad is Sven's best friend, manager, and role model. His connection to his father keeps him grounded and humble
- Sif (Mother) - While having only met her once, Sven is in total awe of his mother. Beautiful beyond words, and just as loving, he seeks to impress her with his work in the world
- Melanope (Lover?) - These two claim to be deeply in love, but something is not quite right.
Followers
Bodyguards (Berserks)
Sven generally travels with 5 bodyguards, large, scary men used to control crowds, put space between he and unruly fans, or, more recently, prevent actual assassinations and crack Titanspawn skulls. The men are named: Mark, Brian, Ed, Jay, and Garth.
Einherjer
More potent followers, these Einherjer can be summoned via his Relic Radio and are called in when something needs more than a little smacking around. Hardened World War 2 US Army Paratroopers, Alpha Squad can kick some serious but. They are:
- Sergeant Wieringo - Thompson SMG, M1911
- PFC Hitch M1 Garand, M1911
- PFC Copiel M1 Garand, M1911
- PFC Oeming M1 Garand, M1911
- PFC Fabry Lee-Einfield No. 4, M1911
