Background
Jolie's mother was a Northern church-going girl who dared to mock the "sinful" Voudoun ceremonies on a visit to New Orleans. Needless to say, the loa were not pleased. The Baron took it upon himself to exact revenge, seducing the woman most thoroughly. It was a few months after her return that she realized her condition, and after a total of 9 months, she gave birth to Jolie.
Fast forward to college. Jolie had a love of movies, and of horror films in particular, and became a film major at NYU. She was the president of the horror film club, and also wrote a horror blog called TheSistaMadeIt.com. She never cared about her absent father, but at a nearby horror film convention, she learned about him in a big way. Jolie met and received a warning from him at a party, and then fought off a zombie attack that threatened the lives of her fellow con-goers. Now she knows that she is the daughter of the Baron Samedi, and uses her powers against the Titanspawn.
June 2009: Jolie is now a Demigoddess. Watch out!
Personality
Jolie is outgoing and loves to party, but she has enough of a sense of duty to both her mortal mother and her Loa father to buckle down and be serious about her studies, both mundane and occult, when she needs to. Even then, she's all smiles and cheerfulness. Knowing about death makes her enjoy life to its fullest, whether she's watching a movie, or dancing and romancing, or fighting off the bad guys.
