Background

There is nothing glamorous about Alice's conception or birth. Alice's mother, Tawny, was a waitress when she met Alice's father. The man was debonaire and wealthy — but violent. Very violent. Alice's mother endured the relationship for several months until she found she was pregnant. She tried to flee, but he found her every time. He promised her he'd do right by her, and marry her; settle down and provide financial security for she and the baby. The two were married shortly afterwards, and seven months later came Alice. From what Tawny says, Alice's father was ecstatic about the new baby. He was constantly prattling on about her 'potential'. However, things turned sour when Alice was about a year old. Daddy up and split one day, leaving Tawny next to nothing. She could no longer afford to pay the rent on the posh condo her husband had previously paid for, and was forced to resume her job as a waitress. She and Alice moved to Hell's Kitchen shortly thereafter.

When Alice was about five or so, she started receiving quarterly visits from her Aunt Athy… apparently her father's sister. Auntie would give Tawny money for Alice's upbringing, and teach her things. While Alice had a mother, Tawny was never particularly suited for motherhood. Alice began to look more and more to her aunt as a mother, and even still refers to her aunt as Mama Athy. Around fifteen years old, Alice finally realized that Athy was Athena, goddess of war, wisdom, and many, many other things. Athena finally owned up to this and bestowed her divine gifts upon Alice — along with continuing her tutelage.

Around the age of 18, the visits started to become a little less regular. Alice was on her own, but she was independent enough that she was comfortable with this. With some money that Athena had given to her, she enrolled in a community college in order to take business classes. She eventually graduated and opened up her own jewelry store — with the help of a loan from Athena. Alice was told she wouldn't have to repay the loan, on one condition: Alice would never try to get into contact with her father.

Considering the fact that both Athena and Tawny have been tight-lipped about the identity of Alice's father, Alice doesn't think there will be a problem with this. However, she does constantly wonder… which one of Athena's brothers IS her father? And why is it so imperative she doesn't contact him?

Personality

Alice is generally cool, calm and collected — almost to a scary degree. She doesn't always deal very well with social situations, rather preferring to be in a dark room working on her jewelry or tailoring endeavors rather than having to be around other actual people. Egads. While generally a pacifist, if push comes to shove, Alice will give it her all on the battlefield — metaphorically or not.

Relationships

Face Name Notes
leandra_icon.jpg Leandra Fawley Apparently Alice's kinda sorta aunt even though she's younger than Alice. This is weird. Also, Lea seems a tad touchy. But Alice likes her anyway.
